End Of My Youth: Turning 30
I’m a Dad!

Connor Patrick Vasto born 12/2/10. 8lbs 9 oz 19 inches long!

First couple days in hospital were not too bad. Bridget had a c-section so we got to stay for 4 days. At first I was upset for her to have surgery, but I am thankful to have gotten the extra time in the hospital and get some extra support on how to care for this little man.

We got home yesterday, the 6th at around 4:30. He slept until about 6ish, and ate a couple times between 6 and 7:30. He actually fell asleep at 8:30, right in time for the JETS game. (too bad they played horrible). He of course woke up on cue around 11:30 after the game. We fed him and went to bed around 12:30. Up again at 4:15 to feed him, slept for about 2 and half hours. Up again at 6:45 with a present in his diaper for daddy. Fed him at 7:00.

Today has been challenging. It’s almost as if he has cried more today or if that is jut how I am perceiving it. He fussed a lot this morning, especially when the SEARS guy was here to fix the dryer. (Oh yeah, that can be repaired for $300 or so and may need another repair in 3 months. Thankfully the repair man, Bernie, decided he felt bad for me with a screaming baby and told me it was cheaper to buy me a new one.) We finally calmed him down after another feeding and he napped 11:00 to about 2:15!!! I slept while Bridget only got an hour in. She was worried he would wake up and stayed up to watch him.

Some more fussing and feeding later on and by 4:45 Bridget looked exhausted. I told her to nap while I had him. I got him to sleep for about 30 minutes in this rocker thing we got from Bridget’s mom (will be known as Grandma O from this point forward). So of course, he doesn’t want mommy to be asleep and starts screaming. I burped him again, changed a poopy diaper, and couldn’t get him to stop. So I tried the baby swing, and he has been lights out!!! Hopefully this goes on for a while so Mommy can get some sleep and I can eat. More to follow…
